Werribee Foot Clinic uses Lightforce Xli Deep tissue Laser Therapy System with Empower IQ Delivery System

We have been using this system since 2023 on acute. sub acute and chronic foot pain including plantar fasciosis, Achilles tendinopathy, peroneal tendinopathy and Morton’s neuroma to name a few suitable conditions. The light force system  provides faster pain relief and is a Class IV laser type than our previous Fox Laser. This method is known as  photobiomodulation therapy (PBM), which is well established in the scientific community for efficacy in treating musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. PBM therapy in the scientific literature is the application of a therapeutic dose of light to impaired or dysfunctional tissue which leads to cellular response mediated by mitochondrial mechanisms. Studies have shown that these changes can impact pain and inflammation and tissue repair.

How Do We Use Laser Therapy

We use Laser therapy initially on the foot pain then weekly for up to 6 visits. Clients often report increased warmth in the region that is being treated. This will be combined with other therapies such as taping, home therapy stretching and strengthening program, modified load which may include reduced activity, Cam Walker or post operative, shoe modifications and orthotic therapy.
