Inherited
This is when a person was born with the tendency to have flat feet or feet that tend to pronate excessively. This condition is not always an issue but can often lead to overuse problems in the feet. legs, knees, hips and lower back due to the feet influencing the position of these structures.
Acquired
This type of foot can occur due to injury or as the muscles that help hold up the arch of the foot fatigue, tear or rupture. The result is a flat foot on the effected side, a swollen painful inner ankle and a limp.
